A Pennsylvania mother is facing two homicide charges after police say her husband and 3-year-old son were found stabbed to death inside a room at a popular Pocono Mountains waterpark resort, WVIA said. Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda, is accused of killing her husband, Charles Harrison, and their young son at Great Wolf Lodge in Pocono Township on Monday, Oct. 12. Authorities have identified the child in court documents only by his initials. Police were called to the resort at about 3:13 p.m. after Harrison called 911 while in distress, according to the criminal complaint, NBC10 Philadelphia said. During the call, Harrison told a dispatcher that her husband and son were already dead. When officers entered the hotel room, they found Charles Harrison and the boy dead on separate mattresses. Police said Charles suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest and the child appeared to have one stab wound to his chest. Harrison was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment, according to 6abc. Investigators also found two knives and several bottles of medication inside the room, according to court documents. The family had been staying at Great Wolf Lodge since Sept. 21 and had extended its reservation, according to investigators, Fox News reported. Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso called the deaths a “violent domestic tragedy” and said investigators were still trying to determine a motive. Authorities said the incident was isolated and there was no threat to the public. Harrison faces two counts of criminal homicide. Great Wolf Lodge said it was heartbroken by the deaths and was cooperating with investigators. The investigation remains ongoing.
